The Right Writing

72 notes

A small anti-procrastination strategy

This probably won’t work for anybody but me, but I’ll put it out there in case it does.

I’ll have my favorite website, my writing, and a book I’m reading open.  Every time I read a chapter, go through a page on my favorite website, or write 500 words, I’ll switch to a different activity.  The only exception is when I want to write more than 500 words.

This way, I don’t spend my time all on one thing that could stop me from writing.  You can replace the book and the website with any leisure activity.  If I just had one thing and writing, I’d spend too long on that one thing.  Having two somehow makes me want to switch between the two, which makes it easier also for me to switch to writing.
